The North Carolina State Fair Futurity is one of the longest running futurities in the country.
This futurity is run under BOTH ApHC and NC State Fair Rules. Any registered Appaloosa weanling, yearling and 2-year old english or western riding horse with regular papers or a performance permit is eligible. All futurity horses must be entered with the State Fair in their respective classes making an entry on regular State Fair Entry Blanks and mailed by the entry closing date, per the official rules. They must also be entered in the NCAHA Futurity on NCAHA Futurity Forms as outlined in the table below.
